What is a property’s EPC?
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides information about a property’s energy performance. The EPC rating, expressed on a scale from A to F or G (depending on the region), gives an idea of how energy-efficient the home is. Only certified energy experts are authorised to issue this certificate, which is now required for any sale or rental. The certificate also includes recommendations for improving the EPC rating, and therefore making your home more energy-efficient and cost-effective. These recommendations may include adding roof insulation, installing double glazing and/or fitting a heat pump.
