Theft insurance is an optional add-on to AG’s Top Habitation Belgian-law buildings and contents fire insurance policy, distributed by BNP Paribas Fortis. The policy is valid for 1 year, at the end of which it will be renewed by tacit agreement for the same period, except where it is cancelled at least three months before the renewal date.
For a policy taken out or renewed by tacit agreement on or after 1 October 2024, you have until two months before the renewal date to cancel it. In addition, from the second year onwards, you can cancel the policy at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of a 2-month period starting the day after notice is given by registered mail or served upon us, or the day after we provide an acknowledgement of receipt.

You can combine different discounts until 31 December 2026 for each new Top Habitation fire insurance contract- only 'Total Customer Insurance’ and 'Welcome Gift' cannot be combined.

You will receive the discount if you, your spouse or your legal or de facto cohabitant also have at least one active contract with BNP Paribas Fortis for one of the following AG insurance policies:
You will receive a 10% discount on the first annual premium of your new contract if you do not meet the requirements for the 'Total Customer Insurance'² discount.
You get a 5% discount¹ for the entire term of your new contract – provided the contract remains unchanged² – if you have invested (or invest within 12 months) in energy-efficiency upgrades for your home, such as solar panels, a heat pump and/or a wind turbine for private use. This discount also applies if you have a home with an EPB score of A+, An or B in Flanders and Wallonia, or A, B or C in Brussels³.

theft of insured contents
damage to insured contents following theft, attempted theft, vandalism or other malicious act
replacement costs for exterior door locks if a key or remote control is stolen
theft when the specified prevention measures in the Top Habitation policy have not been taken by the policyholder (e.g. failure to lock external doors in their absence)
theft committed, aided or abetted by you or your spouse or relatives of you or your spouse in the ascending or descending line
