Theft insurance is an optional add-on to AG’s Top Habitation Belgian-law buildings and contents fire insurance policy, distributed by BNP Paribas Fortis. The policy is valid for 1 year, at the end of which it will be renewed by tacit agreement for the same period, except where it is cancelled at least three months before the renewal date.
For a policy taken out or renewed by tacit agreement on or after 1 October 2024, you have until two months before the renewal date to cancel it. In addition, from the second year onwards, you can cancel the policy at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of a 2-month period starting the day after notice is given by registered mail or served upon us, or the day after we provide an acknowledgement of receipt.

For every new Top Habitation policy taken out on or before 31 December 2025, you can enjoy multiple discounts, although the "Complete Client Insurance" discount cannot be combined with the "Welcome Gift" discount.
Benefit from a 10% discount throughout the duration of your new contract², if you, or your spouse or legal or de facto cohabitant, also have at least one active contract with BNP Paribas Fortis in one of the following AG insurances:
Benefit from a 10% discount for the first year of your new contract, if you do not meet the "Fully Insured Client" conditions².
Receive a 10% discount for the entire duration of your new policy if you make energy efficiency improvements in your home, for example by installing solar panels, a heat pump or additional insulation. You can also benefit from this discount if your home has a green energy certificate (PEB A+, A or B in Wallonia and Flanders, and A, B or C in Brussels)¹.

Stolen goods are 100% covered (compared to 50% for the basic policy). Moreover, the amount of
compensation you can claim is doubled. And because theft with violence or threats is a traumatic
experience, the Vol+ pack covers medical expenses and five sessions with a psychologist.
However, you won’t be covered if the theft occurs in a property that is not regularly occupied, or if
the prevention measures specified in the contract policy have not been carried out.
