Two payment limits
When you make a payment, whether at a shop, online or via an app, there are two limits that apply:
1. A limit related to the payment method used (bank card or money transfer)
2. A limit per transaction
Debit card limit
These apply when you use your card via:
- Bancontact
- Payconiq to pay a person or make an online purchase (if the merchant displays the Bancontact logo)
- Apple Pay/Google Pay/Garmin Pay/Fitbit Pay etc. (your card is linked to the payment app)
- A web store where you have registered your card as a payment method
You can make up to €2,500 of payments per day across all of these payment methods, subject to a maximum of €1,500 per transaction. You can easily increase* or decrease your card limit via Easy Banking App and Easy Banking Web.
For minors, the limit is €250/day across all payment methods.

Credit card limits
This limit is specific to you personally. You can find it easily via Easy Banking App or Easy Banking Web on the transaction details page.
Transfer limits
These limits apply when you use:
- Payconiq to pay in a shop
- Payconiq to pay a person via a link
- Wero (instant European payment)
The total maximum amount of these payments is €25,000/day , including the Wero limit of €5,000/day.
For minors, the transaction limits are €625/day and €1,250/week across all payment methods.
Online and mobile limits
Different payment limits apply depending on whether you’re paying for a purchase online, reimbursing a friend or paying in a shop by scanning a QR code.
