Free opening and management
Opening and managing your PRO savings account is free of charge. You do not pay management fees or monthly fees. You may occasionally pay some postage fees.
Secure savings
A savings account has a fixed capital. Financial markets may fluctuate, but they will never put your savings at risk. Savings up to €100,000 are protected by the deposit guarantee.
Easy savings
Deposit money when you want to. Do you want to take out all or part of your savings? Transfer the desired amount(s) to your BNP Paribas Fortis current account.
What interest do you receive?
Interest rates are expressed as gross percentages per annum. They may vary depending on the market. Each change is reported on your next account statement. A PRO savings account can never show a negative balance.
You receive the base rate for every amount deposited into your PRO savings account. Your money earns interest for every day it remains in your account (at a minimum from the next calendar day after the deposit).
You receive interest calculated at the base rate every year on 1 January (or when your account is closed). The base rate is not guaranteed: it may fluctuate depending on the market.
You receive a loyalty bonus for every deposit into your PRO savings account that remains there for twelve consecutive months without interruption. Loyalty bonuses also earn interest at the base rate.
You receive your loyalty bonuses on the first day of the following quarter (1 January, 1 April, 1 July, 1 October, or when your account is closed).
The loyalty bonus may fluctuate, but it is guaranteed during the recruitment period. What does this mean? If you deposit €100 into your PRO savings account on 10 April 2025, you will receive (if applicable) a loyalty bonus twelve months later, on 11 April 2026, at the rate in effect on 10 April 2025. Even if the loyalty bonus changes in the meantime, this will have no impact.
In the event of insolvency or risk of insolvency of the financial institution, the saver risks not recovering their savings or may be subject to a reduction/conversion into capital (Bail-in) of the amount of their claims on the financial institution exceeding €100,000, which falls under the deposit protection mechanism.
A sustained increase in inflation could erode the value of the deposited money.
The PRO savings account is a non-regulated savings account. Consequently, any interest paid on this account is subject to a 30% professional withholding tax.
