Your personal card reader

To use a card reader, you must meet certain conditions: you must be at least 18 years old, be a BNP Paribas Fortis customer and have a BNP Paribas Fortis debit card or Access Card. We must also have your most up-to-date identification data.

Request a new card reader

Is your current card reader faulty? Does it display the message "battery low"? Request a new one and we’ll send it to you free of charge. Would you like an additional card reader? No problem! You can buy one for €9.90.

Logging in with a card reader

  • On the Easy Banking sign-in screen, enter your customer number or user number. Your customer number is on your debit card, and your user number is on your Easy Banking contract.
  • Select the "Card Reader" option.
  • Enter the number of the debit card you want to use.
  • Insert the debit card into your card reader and press M1.
  • Enter the CHALLENGE code and press OK.
  • Enter your PIN and confirm by pressing OK.
  • Now enter the RESPONSE code and click "Confirm".

Pay securely with your card reader

For BNP Paribas Fortis, your security is a priority. If someone asks you by phone or email to generate a digital signature with your card reader, don’t do it. Digital signatures are only requested in Easy Banking or when you pay for an online purchase with your debit or credit card.
Furthermore, a signature will only be requested for transactions that you’ve initiated yourself.
If you notice something suspicious, inform your branch or the Easy Banking Centre on 02 762 90 00 as soon as possible.
