The basics of a strong password
The longer, more unusual and complex your passwords are, the harder they will be to compromise. Here are some tips:
- Use all the types of characters on your keyboard (uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters)
- Use long phrases instead of a single word
- Avoid including personal information, such as your birthday, your spouse's name or your child's name
- Avoid sequences of characters in the order in which they appear on your keyboard: hackers are sure to try them, so avoid sequences like 12345 or qwerty
- Invent a non-existent word: hackers test all dictionary words using their software, even the most exotic ones.
