What makes a 5-digit code secure?

It involves the principle of strong authentication.

Strong authentication is guaranteed if the client uses at least two of the following three independent elements:

  • A secret item of knowledge (something the client knows, such as a password or code),
  • An exclusive possession (something the client owns, such as a payment card or smartphone)
  • An exclusive characteristic (something that is unique to the client, such as a fingerprint or facial recognition elements).

We chose a 5-digit code to distinguish it from a 4-digit PIN or a 6-digit number, which may correspond to a date of birth.

When creating your Easy Banking code, you must also use your card reader.
