To keep its business going despite restaurants being closed during the pandemic, L’Agora decided to increase its online presence. And with our bank's expertise in this field, the strategy proved to be a winner. Theodoros Tsantekidis, who runs this wholesaler of Greek products, explains.
L’Agora is a wholesaler offering a wide range of traditional Greek products, and has been doing so for over 30 years. Based in Montignies-sur-Sambre, it also specialises in wine. The company’s owner is, in fact, a connoisseur in the field and works with no fewer than 34 wineries in Greece. Although its store is also open to consumers, its main business is as a distributor to the hospitality industry. "The distribution business accounts for nearly 80% of our turnover," explains Theodoros Tsantekidis. "The closure of restaurants was a serious blow to us and the first few months were very difficult. We had to reinvent ourselves to survive."
To avoid his customers forgetting him and to attract new ones, L’Agora’s owner decided to boost his presence on social media. "I didn't know much about it, so I initially worked on instinct," he admits. "By regularly posting photos, sharing special offers and highlighting our new products, I was able to keep in touch with my customers and maintain some of my revenue."
However, taking the web by storm requires more than just trial and error. That's why Theodoros Tsantekidis also turned to his bank to support him in his digital transition. "My advisor explained the importance of having an online profile and recommended that I use Google My Business," he explains.
Users of this free service can, in just a few clicks, get one of the top rankings on Google, even if they don't have a website. That’s a big help if you want to stay competitive these days. And thanks to our partnership with Google, we ensure that the process is quick and easy for our customers.
"My bank has been able to identify my needs and offer me the solution I needed," says Theodoros Tsantekidis. "This means that I can adapt to my customers' habits and take a smart approach by changing along with them."
