Victim of online fraud

Have you been the victim of online fraud or do you think you might have been?
Have you made an online purchase you now want to cancel because something doesn't feel right? Or do any of the following ring a bell?

 

  • You received an e-mail from the bank asking you for financial information like your account number, bank card or credit card number, PIN, etc.;
  • You received a mail inviting you to install a program that will extend the possibilities offered by PC banking;
  • Your PC banking language has been changed and no longer matches your native language;
  • You've been billed for services or goods you did not receive or did not request;
  • You received a transfer form or bill in which the beneficiary's account number has been pasted in or manually altered;
  • You received a payment request, the origin or purpose of which you didn't recognise.

How should you respond in any of the above situations?

 

  • If you performed the transaction with your bank card or credit card:

    • Notify the police of the misuse of your cardwithin 24 hours.

  • If you performed the transaction via PC banking:
    • You realised there was a problem during Phone banking's opening hours.
      • Contact Phone banking as quickly as possible on 02 261 11 11.
      • Notify the police of the (potential) fraud within 24 hours.
    • You realised there was a problem outside Phone banking's opening hours.
      • Contact Phone banking as soon as it is accessible on 02 261 11 11.
      • Notify the police of the (potential) fraud within 24 hours.

     

  • If you completed and signed a manual transfer form for this transaction and took it to your bank branch:
    • Contact Phone banking as soon as it is accessible on 02 261 11 11.
    • Notify the police of the (potential) fraud within 24 hours.
