Card swallowed by ATM

Your bank card

  • Call Card Stop immediately on +32 (0)70 344 344 to prevent fraud.
    Card Stop is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • If your card was swallowed by a BNP Paribas Fortis ATM inside a branch:
    Contact the BNP Paribas Fortis branch in question to recover your card.
  • If your card was swallowed by another ATM:
    Contact your branch or Phone banking on +32 (0)2 261 11 11 to have the card replaced.
    Any BNP Paribas Fortis branch can immediately issue you with a temporary card while you wait for your actual card.

Visa or MasterCard issued by ATOS Worldline

  • Call Card Stop immediately on +32 (0)70 344 344 to prevent fraud. Card Stop is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Report the theft of your card to the police within 24 hours.
  • Card Stop will automatically order a new card for you when your previous card is frozen.
  • You will be notified when your new card is ready. (Normally within 5 bank business days.)
  • Your new card must be collected from your branch. 

 

Visa or MasterCard issued by ICS

  • You should preferably call the emergency number of ICS on +32 (0)2 416 16 16 (24/24 – 7/7) or call Card Stop on +32 (0)70 344 344 (24/24 – 7/7) to prevent fraud.
  • Report the theft of your card to the police within 24 hours.
  • A new card will be ordered automatically.
  • Your new card will be sent to your home address (normally within 5 bank business days).

Has your card been used fraudulently?

  • Remember to have your card frozen first! (see above)
  • File a complaint with the police. The police will write up a report.
  • Give the police report to your branch.
