Borrowing money

Rondo

Having a permanent cash reserve for unforeseen or considerable expenses will put your mind at ease. A renewable credit facility allows you to withdraw cash when and as it suits you. It is fast, flexible and discreet.

What is the Rondo cash reserve?

Rondo is a credit facility. You can use your Rondo card for easy payments in shops or cash withdrawals from your reserve. You pay back the funds at your own pace in fixed or variable monthly instalments. The funds you have repaid can then be withdrawn again. This will give you more comfort and keep your budget in balance.

Advantages

  • Always an extra budget in reserve.
  • No justification, no paperwork.
  • Easy payments and cash withdrawals with your Rondo card.
  • Spread the repayment of your expenses.
  • You only pay interest on the section you actually use.

You determine the amount of your Rondo reserve together with your adviser, It may be between EUR 1,000 and EUR 5,000.

Use your reserve with your Rondo card

  • You can pay for your purchases straightaway, at no extra charge, at all Belgian retailers with a Bancontact payment terminal.
  • You can withdraw cash from Self terminals belonging to BNP Paribas Fortis or from Bancontact cash dispensers.
  • You can top up your Proton card (your electronic wallet).

Use your reserve without your Rondo card

  • You can ask for money to be transferred to your current account at any time of the day, 7 days a week. It only takes a phone call.

You receive an itemised statement every month. It will show all of the purchases you made with your Rondo card and any amounts you asked to be transferred.

You pay a fixed monthly fee corresponding to 5,60% of the reserve granted. You only pay interest on the amount withdrawn. Of course, you can repay more than the fixed amount of 5,60%.

The Rondo Protection insurance by AG Insurance allows you to link an insurance policy to your Rondo card for a small premium. It will protect you against fraud in the event of theft or loss and in the event of death or temporary or permanent total disability.

Step 1

Say you have a Rondo reserve of EUR 2,000. One day you spot the sofa of your dreams. The price tag is EUR 2,000. You pay using your Rondo card, using up the whole of your reserve.

Step 2

One month later, you receive your Rondo statement setting out your spending with your Rondo card. Since you've only made one purchase, the amount to repay is EUR 2,000.

Step 3

The ‘spread repayments' feature means you don't pay back the EUR 2,000 in one go. You repay 5,60% of your reserve each month, i.e. EUR 112. This amount includes the repayment of part of the capital and interest at the fixed debit rate of 9,86% a year. The cost of using the card is 0.20% a month, giving an overall Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 12,50%. That means you will repay a total of EUR 2.210,82. If you don't make any further purchases with the card, your sofa will be repaid over 20 months. In the meantime, depending on your repayments, you can continue to draw cash from your reserve.

Do you want to check the status of your reserve? You can view this on the secure "MyRondo" web pages at www.rondo.be. Here you can check out all the advantages of your Rondo reserve and card, together with special and promotional offers.

You can also view your available reserve, carry out all your transactions, such as transfers, changes of address, etc. and ask any questions you may have.
