Term account
You yourself choose the term, amount and currency
Do you prefer to play it safe? Then opt for an investment in a Term Account. Determine by yourself the amount of your investment (from EUR 250), the duration (seven days to ten years), as well as how the interest is paid. At maturity, you will get back the full amount invested plus interest.
What is in it for you?
A term investment allows you to grow your savings safely, since you will recover all your capital at maturity.
The interest rate on your term investment is determined by the duration of your investment and remains the same throughout the investment period. So you know in advance exactly how much your savings will yield. It is up to you to decide the frequency of interest payments (annual, quarterly, monthly or at maturity) and on which current or savings account they are paid. Below, you will find the current interest rates starting from a period of one year: The current interest rates (pdf)
Fees
Entrance fee: none.
Management fee: none.
Withholding tax: 30% on interest earned.
What are the risks involved with a Term Account?
Liquidity risk
The capital is available after maturity of the investment.
Credit risk
A Term Account is an investment in fixed assets. Financial markets may rise or fall, but this does not endanger your savings. Moreover, savings of up to EUR 100,000 fall under the deposit guarantee and are always guaranteed. In the case of higher amounts, only the first EUR 100,000 are guaranteed. The investor risks losing the excess amount or of having to converted it into equities (bail-in).
Currency risk
You decide in which currency you want to save. However, keep in mind that all term deposits in a foreign currency are exposed to currency risks.
