How do I log in?

  1. Enter your customer number and card number in the Easy banking log-in screen.
    Tip: So that you do not have to enter these numbers every time, you can tick the "Save user data on this device" option.
  2. Insert your bank card in your card reader and press the M1 button.
  3. You will see an eight-digit code on the Easy banking log-in screen (the 'CHALLENGE'). Enter this code in your card reader and press OK.
  4. Now enter your PIN in your card reader and confirm by pressing OK. The card reader then generates an electronic signature for you: a unique eight-digit code. The combination of this electronic signature with your customer and card number will ensure that your Easy banking session is perfectly secure.
  5. The electronic signature appears on the screen of your card reader under the word 'RESPONSE'. Enter this in the Easy banking log-in screen and click on 'Confirm'. You will now be able to access Easy banking.

Note: The blind and the visually impaired can request a special card reader with extra large keys, a clear LCD screen and voice support from their branch.

Where can I find my user number or card number?

  • Your customer number consists of 10 digits (xxxxx xxxxx). You can find this number on your bank card and on some documents BNP Paribas Fortis sends to you. If this is not the case (with older cards, for example), you can request your customer number under the 'Forgotten your number?' link on your current PC banking log-in screen.

    Note: You cannot log in with your user number.
  • Your card number consists of 17 digits (xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx x). You can find this number on the front of your bank card.

    Note: It is not possible to log in with a credit card.

I have entered the PIN incorrectly three times and "PIN blocked" now appears on the card reader's screen. What should I do?

Your card will be blocked if you have made three incorrect attempts to enter the PIN for your BNP Paribas Fortis bank card. Please get in touch with your branch. The branch will release your bank card.

If you have forgotten the PIN for your bank card, the branch should request a new PIN. After a few days you will receive a new PIN at home.

My card reader is broken or the battery is flat. What should I do?

If your card reader is faulty (does not respond or does not display the usual information) or if the message "Battery low" is displayed, it needs to be replaced.

You can replace your card reader for free:

  • Request it online and we will send it to you within a week.
  • Head to a BNP Paribas Fortis branch, where you will be given a card reader when you hand in your broken one

Which card must I use with the card reader?

Whenever you log in or sign transactions with the card reader, you must always have a valid BNP Paribas Fortis bank card to hand.

This BNP Paribas Fortis bank card must meet the following criteria:

  • it must be linked to the reference account of your contract;
  • it must be a debit card of which you are the holder;
  • it must be a card with 17 digits xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx x;
  • the card must first be used at an ATM or for a payment at a retailer.

Note: It is not possible to log in with a credit card.

I only have a digipass, not a card reader. How can I log in?
